4B Farm and Campground is now owned by husband and wife team Mark and Kathy Bowman.
Mark and Kathy, a step-mom, have 2 grown children — Amber and “Little” Mark. Amber has given them 5 grandchildren while Mark has given them 2 grand-dogs.
Mark and Kathy began their journey with a dream of owning a campground. They went to a workshop to learn about campground ownership in the spring of 2016 and came home with plans to begin steps to ready their house in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina for sale.
That summer, Kathy was inspired by a worker at their granddaughter’s horse summer camp to begin horseback riding again. Little did she know that God put Ms. Carol in her path to begin a plan that He had for both her and Mark. Kathy began taking some lessons and Mark became interested as well. After just a few lessons, Mark and Kathy were hooked and purchased 2 mares from Coppertop Horse Rescue in Ohio.
Progress on the house sale and campground ownership dream had stalled with the leap into horse ownership, but then God forced their attention back to their dream and His plan for their lives. Life events inspired them to get serious with their dream. They began making repairs and continuing to pack their belongings. By the end of summer 2017, the house was almost ready for market. After contacting their realtor, they were advised to go ahead and get an appraisal and home inspection. Again, God was working and the appraiser advised them of a potential buyer. Without their house ever formally going on the market, it was sold!
Since then, they have been on a journey of faith. Feeling that God was leading them on this path, Mark and Kathy began searching and looking at campgrounds for sale that would have enough land for pasture for their 2 quarter horse mares. After 7 months of being homeless and looking at several campgrounds, they were almost ready to just buy another house with some land. Then God put 4B Farm in front of them. This opened their eyes to the possibly of a campground catering to horses and horse owner campers. After looking at an equestrian campground in Tennessee, God was still working out His plan and spoke to Kathy’s heart telling her that 4B Farm was his will for them. Trusting and relying on God, they made an offer on 4B Farm that was accepted. God continued to work out any obstacles thrown in their path and provided them with 4B Farm and Campground on June 5th, 2018.
Since then, Mark and Kathy have been working on running the campground and getting it reopened for year-round enjoyment!
